Southern Terminus: US-169, south of Nowata
Approaching this end, the two 169s run almost parallel. At this point the alternate route makes a sharp left turn and connects with the parent road.
US-169 has been rerouted to avoid the central Nowata area, which truck traffic has no business going through. Alternate-169 is the original route through downtown Nowata. Sidebar: before US-169 was extended into Oklahoma, this road was part of the original OK-16.
Northern Terminus: US-169, north of Nowata
There are no 'End' notifications at either terminus. It is just generally assumed (and in most cases, rightly so) that the Alternate road is not going to cross or duplex its current namesake.
