OK-52 North
Southern Terminus: US-266, east of Grayson

Northern terminus: OK-16, nine miles east of the US-75 junction

The end sign above is mistakenly shielded as US-52. Similar signs appear frequently in the Morris area south of here. At left, you can see that the first southbound assurance sign is at least right.

Road construction going on all along this stretch of road, although is looks like they're just adding emergency lanes. Not nearly a busy-enough road for four-laning.

Sidebar: The two 52's are obviously not connected to each other, but they used to be at one time. My state road map from 1972 shows the two highways connecting. The midsection was, and still is, a badly-maintained dirt road, as seen in the pic at left. When southern 52 reached OK-9, the two roads were duplexed for about a mile, then 52 turned and went up this road. You can see why the midsection has been decommissioned.

Pictures taken 1 December 2002 (north end) & 10 December 2002 (south end & midsection).
