Upper Left: view from the state line looking toward New Mexico Above: view from the state line looking toward Oklahoma Lower Left: first assurance sign eastbound For several decades this road was unsigned (in the early parts of the 20th Century this road was known as OK-11, then US-64, before both were rerouted). When this road was first signed OK-325 it got that number because the road became NM-325 when it crossed the state line. A few years later New Mexico redesigns its entire state highway system, and renames this road 456. That's gratitude for ya. |
Eastern Terminus: US-56/64/287/385/412, OK-3, Boise City
This end approaches a square-shaped
traffic circle surrounding
the Cimarron County Court House in Boise City, and
the only highway sexiplex (six on the same road) in the state, one that
wouldn't exist were it not for the Court House. If this had been a
regular intersection, the sexiplex wouldn't exist.
