Missouri SH-66

Western Terminus: Kansas State Line, continues as KS-66

Missouri Highway Patrol (or sheriff's office; it was a black-and-white with lights on top) sitting on the other side of the street off to the left of the picture, so I felt it prudent not to park on the Missouri side to take a picture of the Kansas side. Maybe next time...

Eastern Terminus in Missouri: I-44 Westbound Exit 15, east of Joplin

The main picture didn't make much sense by itself, so I used the Terraserver site to show what the intersection looks like. The cross street is actually the exit's off-ramp, and becomes the oncoming lane. (The main picture was taken at Spot 1 on the map, looking roughly northeast. Traffic in my direction of travel (and that of the car in the picture) has to stop & yield to exiting traffic.

There is no 'End' marker, but as the BGSs for the exit in question (one of which can be seen at left, taken at Spot 2 in the aerial photo) refer only to '66 West' it is safe to assume the highway's terminus point is here.

Pictures taken 29 November 2002.
